I can say that as an Englishman who has been to Spain and Germany many times, I feel much closer to the German culture than Spanish culture.

Vielleicht kommt mein Eindruck auch von einem anderen Medium. Bei mir hat jedenfalls Google auf dem Handy eine News angezeigt mit dem Aufmacher „Kane bereut Wechsel in die Bundesliga“ und das war dann beim angeklickten Artikel auch so.
Die Einschränkung, dass Paul Gascoigne das nur denkt, kam erst im Text …
In dem Fall ist die Aufmachung natürlich unseriös, ganz klar.

Hi Ibiza, thanks for kind words and as I have replied elsewhere agree with you about no need to fixate on Tah, there are other suitable defenders out there.
I’m in my 70s now, been supporting Spurs for over 60 years, and don’t get out much these days. So can’t promise anything about meeting up, but it’s great to talk on here.
I’ve been to Munich once in the 80s and loved it there. Was delighted when Harry went to Bayern and so hope he can win a team trophy here. Don’t tell any of my Spurs pals but I’m actually more excited about Bayern than Spurs these days, especially as I love the atmosphere at German grounds, better than the Premier league for sure

As pure strikers go, I think Muller was the best I ever saw, even better than my two big idols, Greaves and Kane.
But as all round players I think Messi and Ronaldo are part of the top 5 with Pele Puskas and Maradona
Always hard to judge these things across generations of course, Beckenbauer would be in my top 10
