Union gewann letzte Woche in Frankfurt, während der FCB eine 2:0-Führung im heimischen Stadion gegen den VfL Bochum verspielte und 2:3 verlor.
Ein Sieg am Samstag wäre für den FCB vor der Pause und der danach folgenden entscheidenden Saisonphase durchaus wichtig. Man könnte in der Bundesliga diesmal sogar vorlegen, denn der Konkurrent aus Leverkusen spielt erst am Sonntag Abend in Stuttgart.
Ob Kompany wieder eine komplette Rotation durchzieht?
Sicher ausfallen werden beim FCB jedenfalls Palhinha (Sperre), Neuer und Pavlovic. Hinter dem Einsatz von Coman steht noch ein Fragezeichen, er wurde am Dienstag verletzt (bzw. angeschlagen) ausgewechselt.
Bei Union fehlen voraussichtlich Skov und Kemlein. Cheftrainer Baumgart sitzt eine Gelbsperre ab.
Mental dürfte dieses Spiel nach dem Meilenstein am Dienstag eine große Herausforderung werden. Zurück in die Niederungen des Alltags… das war für unsere Jungs schon oft schwierig.
Wenn man voll konzentriert ins Spiel kommt, wird es ein ungefährdeter Sieg. Andernfalls ist eine Pleite drin. Hoffen wir auf Ersteres.

We are way more likely to win the BL than the CL, but not if we keep throwing points away, then we will almost certainly win nothing
Focus on three points, no rotation at all. Of course don’t play unfit players, but apart from that the strongest team possible.
There were no problems before the Bochum team, the team weren’t having any problems focusing on the BL, great results v Stuttgart and Frankfurt then the fiasco …
Wunderbar. Jetzt holt sich sogar schon der Trainer seine Sperre ab, weil er sich gegen Bayern nichts ausrechnet.
Mit einer größeren Rotation rechne ich nicht. Kompany dürfte aus dem Spiel gegen Bochum gelernt haben. Und immer kannst du dich auch nicht auf Leverkusener Niederlagen verlassen.
„Gelernt“ ist da für mich das falsche Wort … ich glaube, er würde das in einer vergleichbaren Situation auch in Zukunft wieder genauso machen: voller Fokus aufs CL-Weiterkommen.
Diesen Samstag ist die Sache anders; nach dem Spiel ist Länderspiel-„Pause“, da gibt es aus Sicht von Kompany null Bedarf für Rotation und er kann den Fokus auf die Meisterschaft richten und das stärkste Team aufstellen - und genau das wird er auch tun

As Uli Hoeness has correctly said, there is way too much talk about the CL, concentrate on winning the BL first, that’s enough. Of course IF, an unlikely IF, we win the CL too, then then absolutely fantastic, and all credit to Kompany players and staff

Ne, kann mir das jetzt auch nicht vorstellen, dass hier viel rotiert wird, steht ja auch nix direkt danach an und letzte Woche hat auch gezeigt, dass man vorsichtig sein muss.

Oh weia, ich seh grad, dass der BVB ja schon die Ausrede für die Niederlage in München gefunden hat: Wir spielen CL davor am Dienstag, die am Mittwoch
Fokus auf CL heißt ja nicht, dass man das BL-Spiel immer automatisch verliert. Das ist ja gegen Bochum auch ausgesprochen blöd gelaufen, und es ist nicht so, dass Kompany die Niederlage eingeplant hätte.
Wir haben weiterhin 8 Punkte Vorsprung und sollte dieser doch mal kleiner werden, bin ich mir sehr sicher, das Kompany dann zwischen den CL-Spielen weniger rotieren würde.
Die beiden Spiele gegen Leverkusen waren mit einer riesigen psychologischen Bedeutung aufgeladen - nicht nur, dass ein Ausscheiden im Achtelfinale schon eine Enttäuschung für sich gewesen wäre, sondern man hätte sich damit schon wieder nicht gegen Leverkusen durchstezen können …

What does upset me is Kanes lack of a title., and the endless criticism and mockery he gets because of it

I would have thought Kompany, who is clearly a Kane fan, would have been doing everything possible to help Kane get a trophy, and indeed his first trophy as a Bayern manager. Maybe he will do so, I certainly hope so and that both he and Kane are successful
Was definitely not an attack on the Spurs, he was just noticing how much you don’t want us to lose on Saturday against Union and made a joke.
We all want Harry to finally win a trophy, as many as he can while he is with us. The defeat against Bochum should have been enough of a wakeup call for the staff and the players that even the lower tier Bundesliga teams are not to be underestimated (although there were some freak things happening in the Bochum match that made their win more likely).
In my opinion, we will maybe see 1-3 different players in the starting 11 compared to the Leverkusen match.
Coman might get a rest because of him gettings subbed of limping on Tuesday, maybe Olise (although I don’t think so) and Kompany might try something different on the right back position.

60 plus years as a Spurs fan, damn… I’ve been a Bayern/football fan for more than 30 years now and it almost feels like an eternity already… And you just have twice as much, holy hell
Well, prayer knows me certainly better than I do myself.
Also want to back up my comment not being mockery, but the observation that for you (understandably as a long-time Spurs and short-time Bayern fan) the Bundesliga has a much higher weight than for people who have experienced the 11 consecutive years.
Especially towards people who were already fans in 2012.
I take your point, but as I say the key thing for me is Harry winning a trophy, I’ve seen Spurs win plenty of trophies.
But for Harry to have to take another year of mockery… He’s very strong mentally, but losing this title might actually break him, which won’t help Bayern either
