I think the problem is a bit different if looked at in detail:
The chances, first of all, that players like Tel will get enough playing time, would probably be quite a bit lower if we had a second clear NR. 9.
But on top of that: What high class Nr.9 wishes to sit one the bench for like 90% of the season. Best case probably someone like Chupo again from several years ago. But of course even that is miles below what a Kane can do on a good day…
And even these kind of not world class players, even if one is lucky to get them on a free transfer like Chupo, don’t come cheap but usually only do this for a salary in the range of what Chupo got with us - so something like 10 million? A lot of money per year for someone who might hardly play at all…
