Ich fühle mich schon schlecht, dass ich das Thema so aufmache, weil Meistertrainer und so…
Aber denkst du, dass Scheuer den Weg bis ganz nach oben mitmachen kann oder sein Repertoire an Grenzen stößt?
Er hat uns zur ersten Meisterschaft seit Jahren gebracht, aber wie in deinen Artikeln/Tweets meistzu dem Thema durchklingt, scheinst du auch nicht überzeugt zu sein, oder sehe ich das falsch?

Ja, ich kann meine Skepsis trotz der Erfolge nicht verstecken. So richtig zurfrieden bin ich nicht mit dem, was die Mannschaft anbietet und war es auch in der vergangenen Saison oftmals nicht, weil ich glaube, dass eine andere Spielidee diesem unfassbar talentierten Kader besser zu Gesicht stünde. Mir ist das gerade auf höherem Niveau dann zu konservativ und zu passiv. Die Mannschaft überzeugt zudem zu selten auf spielerischem Niveau.
Allerdings will ich zugleich betonen, dass ich hier den Unterschied zwischen gut und sehr gut kritisiere, nicht den zwischen schlecht und gut. Es ist unfassbar schwer, jemanden zu kritisieren, der so erfolgreich ist. Aber letztendlich, wie ich ja auch geschrieben habe, ist das auch einfach notwendig. Ich will nicht ausschließen, dass er die Mannschaft nochmal weiterentwickeln kann. Nur weil ich daran nicht so richtig glaube, heißt das nicht, dass ich richtig liege. Gut möglich, dass er mich nochmal überrascht. Denn schon den Erfolg der vergangenen Saison hatte ich ihm nicht zugetraut.

war mir so nicht bewusst. Kannst Du das erläutern? Höheres Risiko, längere Pausen, weil… ?

Sowohl hormonell (erste Phase des Zyklus) als auch anatomisch gibt es Unterschiede und vor allem das Knie ist bei Frauen höher gefährdet. Warum die Ausfallzeiten länger sind, kann ich gar nicht so verargumentieren, aber vor allem bei Giulia Gwinn ist mir das wieder aufgefallen, wie lange sie weg war mit ihren Kreuzbandriss.

Die Quelle ist schonmal gut, um in das Thema einzuleiten. Ich hätte noch etwas Literatur, um weiterführend sich damit auseinanderzusetzen.
@justin s Kollegin, Tamara Keller, hat beispielsweise einen Artikel zu Kim Fellhauer geschrieben. (Interessante Implikation: Kim Fellhauer ist Giulia Gwinns beste Freundin, spielt beim SC Freiburg und erlitt den ein oder anderen Kreuzbandriss). Darum haben Frauen häufiger einen Kreuzbandriss als Männer - Gesundheit & Ernährung - Badische Zeitung (Paywall).
Verena Schweers, die Miasanrot Expertin und Kicker Kolumnistin, war beim beim Podcast „Im Namen der Hose“ vom BR zu Gast. Darin wurde die Relation des Zyklus & einem ACL wissenschaftlich aufgegriffen und mit Ariane Alter und Kevin Ebert analysiert. Es ist auch ein nach wie vor unterrepräsentiertes Thema. Allgemein ist die Periode bei Frauen ein Thema, das zu oft tabuisiert wird. Warum auch immer. Umso wichtiger, dass sich die Forschung dem immer mehr angenommen hat.
Mittlerweile gibt es sogar Trainingspläne, die sich stärker danach ausrichten.

It’s good analysis. To me Jens Scheuer is not right coach for this Bayern team. I has been criticizing his tactics and approach last season and season before. Nothing changes, really. Beyond structural problems that every women’s team have (except maybe Barcelona at the moment) due to lack of good coaching (little pay), Scheuer’s approach is also very defensive and cautious when his team meets better teams. And funny enough it was same annoying tendency with previous coach who also had good quality squad (including Miedema and Iwabuchi). Even some players expressed their annoyance with defensive approach directly to the coach but to no avail. Scheuer’s Bayern is very predictable and easy to defend against. Last season Bayern scored a lot of goals from set pieces and often created very little from open play. Same thing is happening this year. I dont get why coaching staff isn’t concerned about low chance creation by Bayern frauen (almost vs every team)?
What annoys me is that they approach whole thing (Bayern frauen development) so slowly. What 4 year strategy? Bayern have already had crazy good squad in 2015-2019 period and achieved 2 domestic titles (albeit 2016 was due to bad spell by Wolfsburg who still made it to CL final and lost on pens to Lyon). But they haven’t been able to become top side like Wolfsburg who developed very quickly (in early 2010s) into best team in Europe of the last decade in women’s football. How come Bayern cannot do that for so long?
And then they lost many players in 2019 and pushed restart with new coach. But issues are still the same. Barcelona, for example, were going though same development and made last step after disastrous UWCL final in 2019. In 2019 semis Bayern and Barcelona were at eye level and Bayern were even a bit unlucky in 2d leg and should’ve scored 2 goals, at least. Played better than Barca, for sure.
And now Barca progressed forward to become next „Lyon“ or „Wolfsburg“ of women’s game. And Bayern, it seems to me, stagnated. Or stayed at the same level of wannabe.
Even coach doesnt believe that his team can play aggressive attacking game against Wolfsburg or Chelsea. Against PSG in pre-season - again, very passive approach - defensive midblock and reactive football.
Where is this fear and doubt coming from? I think Scheuer cannot change and cannot turn into attack-minded coach. He did well at Freiburg (that beat both Bayern and Wolfsburg in 2017/ 2018) but he might be coach for underdogs.
When you look at Wolfsburg, you can see that team (even with newcomers, restart and new coach) still have this winning mentality, this „We are Wolfsburg, we should attack every team“.
Bayern? They are very unsure of themselves. They have doubt. Team is reflection of the coach’s mindset. He influences players and their behavior on the pitch. And players are also doubtful because they not fully convinced about their coach’s approach and tactics.
I also think that you are underestimating Frauen Bundesliga clubs. I wouldn’t say that Arsenal are one of the best teams in Europe right now. I watch them vs Everton and they dont look like very formidable team to me. They never managed to beat top teams in last 2 years. With new coach they look slightly better but I wouldnt go as far as calling them Liverpool in women’s game. Quality in WSL isn’t better than in FBL. They have same gap between Chelsea-City and the rest. Especially, from middle to the bottom. I am pretty sure that Hoffenheim can easily beat Spurs, Everton, West Ham. And can beat Man United as well. Even Freiburg can beat Spurs and Everton and bottom WSL clubs. And even can upset top 2. Technical and tactical level is still very good in FBL. It’s better than in WSL, imho. Your dismissiveness towards Freiburg is unfair. They are good team with good coach. And they play attractive football with clear idea. Wolfsburg coach set up his team wrongly, perhaps, but Freiburg made good tactical decisions.
Competition in women’s game is still very low. It’s just 5-6 teams now. And maybe 2 (Barca and Lyon) that really hard to beat at this moment but the rest is very beatable (if your coach has audacity and right approach). Chelsea is quite beatable team. So as Arsenal. And PSG. With quality Bayern have they should beat all those teams and not through defending for dear life or being very reactive. So, my point is, that Bayern need better coach. Maybe, foreign one. Pool of good coaches is very limited in women’s football. But they extended Scheuer’s contract, so it will be same story with Bayern team as it was in 2015-2019 period.
