Ich denke auch, dass Dier wahrscheinlich eher als Mensch und Persönlichkeit fehhken wird, als als Spieler selbst. Da gibt es auf der Welt sicherlich einige Spieler, die diese Rolle gut genug ausfüllen könnten.

Könnte wirklich ein interessanter Sommer werden… auch wenn ich Dier nicht bei den Abgängen vermutet hätte.

Das sehe ich genauso - was die Persönlichkeits-Lücke angeht, die sein Weggang reißen wird. Im Gegensatz zu seinen jüngeren Kollegen Upa und Kim hatte er stets die Ruhe weg, egal wen ihm Kompany an die Seite stellte. Ne tolle Ausstrahlung, wie ich finde - dazu ein absoluter Teamplayer, der nie ne Miene verzog, egal wieviel Spielzeit er kriegte.
Dann noch Kimmich s Lob über seine Grundeinstellung als Profi.
Er wird mir fehlen.
Und Harry sicher auch…

I doubt that. A new employeer will not like it if a player does not have any holiday and misses the start of the preparation. Especially with a 30+ year old player.
Yes, I have a feeling Dier.l won’t be available. That could end up being a key reason why we don’t win the CWC.
I doubt we get another CB in time so we are looking really weak there.
Yes Upamecano should be back, and maybe Kim will be fit. But I really like Dier and Stanisic together, and am unhappy w couldn’t find a deal.

Letzte Saison hat mit Choupo-Moting ein wichtiger Charakter die Kabine verlassen, diese Saison verlassen Müller und Dier den Klub. Einzeln betrachtet alles absolut nachvollziehbare Entscheidungen, aber es ist schon substanzieller Verlust und jetzt müssen andere Spieler diese Lücke füllen.

Ich seh’s wie @Armaster - Choupo, Dier, Müller - in puncto Mentalpower und Mannschaftsgeist ist das ein heftiger Aderlass.
Wer übernimmt? Kimmich würde gern, is‘ aba in dem Punkt nicht prädestiniert für den Job.
Neuer schwebt ein bisschen zu weit über den Dingen resp. Kollegen. Und von den annern is noch keiner so weit.
King Kane. Braucht halt nen Sprachkurs, damit’s was wird in der Richtung.

As for Kane, a yellow card is pretty much a universal language, and he knew before the game not to get one.
On a personal note I studied German about 55 years ago at school and quite enjoyed it.
Later as my love of Germanic culture grew from Beethoven to Marx, Kafka to Hesse, Schubert to Mozart I enjoyed it more. But I never got to the stage where I could hold a proper conversation in the language.
Oh and I still think losing Dier is a mistake and that we should have offered him a two year deal with increased wages. Maybe the deal wouldn’t have been enough, but I think we should at least have tried a little bit more to keep him

I agree on my side to your personal note vice versa - six years of english lessons at school - it’s just forty years back, so I’ve got a big advantage concerning the foreign language on my side 
. After school, English was the language to communicate on every trip abroad - especially during my tours on Interrail ticket: 400 Deutschmark for a complete month of free rail traveling throughout complete Western Europe. I did that five times, five great times, but to my shame I must confess, that I never managed to set over the English Channel. During my year abroad in the Soviet Union meanwhile, English didn’t help me at all. Every non Russian origin citizen in the union of soviet socialist republics (eg the Baltic states) denied to talk Russian with me (it was identified as the language of the occupying power). Unfortunately their skills in dishin speaking English were far worth than my Russian. Sometimes it was really crazy: a possible communication failed despite of the common ability to speak Russian - just because it was the hated language if the occupiers… Rarely a few Russians wanted to improve their English by talking with me, but no way: except professional translators, no Russian I met was able to say more than a three word sentence in English.
l never visited the British Islands so far - l’m very sorry for that. (Not sure whether they would let me in there after the Brexit… )
I completely agree with you in every word.
Big mistake to let him go because of one lousy more year in the contract. And this is one of the rare points where I disagree with Eberl and criticize the result of his work.

Das ist doch gar nichts gegen das peinliche sprachliche Desaster, dass Pal Dardai einst erleben musste, als er - leider mit einem gefälschten Wörterbuch Ungarisch/English - nach London flog, um dort günstig ein paar neue Spieler für Hertha BSC, den Club aus der ANDEREN „Big City“, zu kaufen:

BUT there are still a few … who go on about what happened before either of us were born
And NO I’m not getting involved in a debate about that on here🤗 just to say that ridiculously there is still some anti German sentiment in Britain but it very very rarely spills over into violence, just ignorant stupid comments

No surprise - the last bombing on London is just 80 years ago. It takes longer to forget.
Look at 1982 - Semifinal France-Germany.
Before that game Adenauer and deGaulle settled the French-German-friendship.
But then Toni Schumacher ran towards Battiston, fouled him unforgettably and then behaved for minutes, as if he wouldn’t care at all, while Battiston lost consciousness and needed to be carried out of the place. Next morning the French newspaper reported about the “Nazi attack on Battiston“.
1998 during the World championship in France, German hooligans attacked and seriously hurted the French Police Officer Daniel Niven, wo stayed for months in hospital and reha.
It’s really not easy to overcome the old schedules of enmity!
